12.09.05 ![]() After a forced sabatical following the demise of Nations Cup, Paul Stokell is set to return to GT Sports car racing with Lotus in China at Zuhai this weekend (22 - 23rd Oct) in round 7 of the FIA GT Championship. Paul has been signed to co drive alongside Malaysian driver Tengku Djan Ley and will be driving their recently developed Lotus Exige 300RR in the GT2 class. It's 400 bhp, very light weight and fantastic handling capabilities will make the car competitive against the likes of Porsche, Ferrari and TVR.
"This is a fantastic opportunity. To compete in the FIA GT Championship at a world level has been a dream of mine. It is also fantastic to be reunited with Lotus where I have experienced so much success in the past with Targa Tasmania and GTP."
Paul will also take with him support from Home Loan Centre Australia, who supported both Paul and Stuart Appleby in the recent Targa Tasmania.
"It's going to be a tough assignment. I haven't even seen the car or circuit before and we have very little testing opportunity. My aim will be consistency, we have 500km to complete. The team won the 12 hour race at Sepang recently so I believe we can do well.
